My New Year's Resolution is: be proud of whatever I make.

A big issue with me is that I feel embarrassed by whatever I make. Even basic sketches make me feel like I just ruined what could have been a masterpiece. I always think I did the pose wrong, or I made the facial features wonky, or I put too much shading, or not enough shading, or that it's too generic, or some other catastrophe. I forget that art is a learning experience. Even if I fall short of what I wanted to achieve, I have to remember that I'm still gaining experience and growing as a creator.

Therefore, it is my vow to look at what ever piece of art I make; no matter if it's scribbly, wonky, nondescript or just plain wrong, and say I did a good job.

What's your New Years' resolution?

Out of April

2 min read

It is now officially four months in the year and I have hit quite a few milestones.

  1. I have had an interview with Sobeys for a Backshift position. The job was for someone to organize stock, move new merchandise off of the truck and other chores. While they ultimately gave the job to someone else, they still have my resume and have promised to contact me when they have a new position they believe I could fill. Wasn't the nice of them?

  2. After taking careful steps with my health, I ended up catching Covid. Not only did I lose three days worth of pay, I also had to spend my Easter weekend away from my Family. What's worse, is that my Mother had to isolate almost immediately after my isolation ended! Now I have my Mom's health on my conscience.

  3. I ended up both reaching my Monthly quota and making up for the three art pieces I missed for March! Sure, they were three new drawings, six posters I made over four years ago and a photo of my covid test results, but hey! Art is art.

Those were my three highlights of the Month. I wish you all a pleasant May.

To whom it may concern,

Today Season 1 Samurai Rabbit: the Usagi Chronicles has now dropped onto Netflix and tonight, I am going to see it at last. For those of you not in the know, Samurai Rabbit is a Science-Fantasy cartoon series based on Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo graphic novel series. It chronicles the adventures Yuichi Usagi; a teenage descendant of legendary Samurai Miyamoto Usagi, who wishes to follow in his ancestor's footsteps and become a Master Swordsbuck himself!

To do so, he travels to Neo Edo, a technological metropolis powered by a supernatural rock known as the Keystone. Things don't go as planned; as they often do in these action/adventure type shows. To make a long story short, Usagi unwittingly releases a horde of yōkai (that's japanese for demon) and now he, and his three new friends have to round 'em up before kill innocents, take over the world, steal everybody's soul, reduce Neo Edo's property value or whatever else demons are want to do.:devilish:

I don't know if I've mentioned this earlier, but I've been hyping this series for a while now. Now that the Usagi Chronicles are ready for viewing, I get to see if my hype was worth it.

To see why I'm so excited, I will share with you the Official trailer, a 5 minute clip and the Show's Comic-Con panel at the bottom of this journal:

Sayonara, fellow Samurai and I will get back to you after seeing episode 1 of Samurai Rabbit: the Usagi Chronicles!

To my dedicated watchers,

I regret to inform you that my Gray alien study will be the only new deviation for the month.

To compensate for this, I will be raising the art quota for April from three to six, so I can still satisfy my New Years resolution.

This task shall not be easy as I will now be working at my Part time job.

I’m a dairy farmer now!

Wishing you well on your endeavours,

Adam-ant2.
